Hair Growth Vitamins for Women
Though hair loss is most commonly associated with men, it is a medical and cosmetic concern for many women as well. Even those who are not plagued with outright hair loss, they may still desire thicker and stronger hair. To this effect, some may consider incorporating certain vitamins in to their daily dietary regimen to aid in hair growth.
Many of the vitamins that are labeled by a letter of the alphabet are beneficial for female hair growth. Vitamin B5 is one of the most effective vitamins for aiding hair growth for women. It is also known as pantothenic acid. Another effective supplement is Vitamin H which is also known as biotin. Both of these vitamins work to stimulate the overall absorption of overall vitamins and minerals into the body, thereby boosting cell development in general. This boost in cell development will translate into a stronger scalp and hair root, which will then encourage stronger hair growth.
It should also be noted that Vitamin B5 has been known to delay the development of graying hair, as does Vitamins B6 and B12. These vitamins can be found naturally in foods like whole grains, egg yolks, yeast, many vegetables and some meat and poultry.
Vitamin A, which is high in antioxidants, assists in hair growth in a different way. Rather than promote cell growth, this vitamin encourages the production of healthy sebum or oil in the scalp. A healthy scalp will, in turn, be capable of growing healthier and stronger hair. Other vitamins that also help promote healthy scalp circulation are Vitamin C and Vitamin E. Aside from these vitamins, taking supplements with magnesium, silica and lysine have also proven to stimulate and promote hair growth for women.
