Handmade Nursery Decor

One of the best parts of having a garden nursery is decorating it appropriately, and what better way to decorate your nursery than with the use of handmade nursery decor? Even if you aren’t the handiest person in town, it is still extremely easy to have handmade décor.

One great item which you can decorate your nursery with is a birdbath. Not only will it look nice, but it is functional as well. All you would need is a six inch clay pot, household cement, eight inch clay saucer and brightly colored gloss spray paint.

How to make a birdbath:

1. Place the clay pot upside down.

2. Apply the cement to the bottom of the pot.

3. Center the clay saucer on the top of the clay pot right side up.

4. Let the cement dry overnight.

5. Use the spray paint to paint the bird bath.

6. Spray the paint in several layers, allowing it to dry between applications.

7.Place your birdbath in the desired location and fill the clay saucer with water.

• Should you wish to add more decorations to your birdbath you can also use paint to draw flowers, fairies, animals, or anything else that interests you. Additionally, you can also write your favorite saying around the base of the saucer. If you aren’t artistically inclined purchase stencils to help guide you.

Other items you may wish to consider making to decorate your nursery are: bird feeders, clay figurines, stepping stones and wind chimes.
