How Has Photography Changed Over the Years
Photography is an age old profession. This profession has had several face lifts so to speak over the decades. Equipment and methods of composing professional photographs have changed considerably. These changes have been made in large part by advancing technologies.
How Has Photography Changed Over the Years:
Cameras have changed in size considerably over the years. Back in the 1800s, cameras were large and bulky. They were also heavy, making portability quite difficult. Over the years cameras have progressed from these large models to models that are easy to carry in your hand. In fact, today there are some models that fit on key chains. Even cellular phones feature tiny cameras that are taken literally anywhere.
Zoom features were once nonexistent. Later models required large lens to enable these zoom features. Today, camera lens have self-adjusting features including zoom. The photographer can set the camera to use these self-adjusting features or control these settings themselves. These new cameras do not require additional lens or the large lens once required.
Photograph development used to mean hours in a dark room. The photographer was required to load the film into the film development casing in complete darkness. They would then use the film to expose the photographs onto the photo paper. With the help of developer chemicals the pictures would magically appear on this photo paper. A fixer chemical would then set the photographs permanently onto this photo paper.
Today, there are digital cameras. These cameras make photograph development a snap. You simply upload the photographs onto your computer from the digital camera. You are not required to spend any time in a dark room or smell any harsh chemicals. Photograph editing software is used to make changes to photographs in a snap. This method is used by photographers of fashion models and celebrities to remove flaws.
