How To Clean Car Windows
Car windows are difficult to keep clean, due to bugs and dirt on the outside and fingerprints and smoke on the inside. Some popular commercially-produced cleaners leave streaks, others smear the dirt around. Fortunately, there is an all-natural cleaner commonly used by professional car detailers, that will clean the inside as well as the outside to a streak-free shine.
1. Mix one part white vinegar with three parts water in a spray bottle. A few drops of grapefruit, lavender, lemon or orange essential oil can be used, if desired.
2. For outside windows, spray a generous amount of the vinegar and water solution and wipe with crumpled newsprint. The ink is slightly abrasive on the microscopic level and it will whisk dirt and debris from the window surface. This process can be used on side windows, as well as the front and back windshields.
3. For inside windows, spray a generous amount of the cleaning solution and wipe with either newsprint, a microfiber towel or another lint-free cloth. Since the inside windows are not as dirty as the outside, this part of the job goes by quickly.
4. Allow the windows to dry completely before you operate the car.
