How To Clean Car Windshields

It is surprising how obstructed your car windshield can become just from dirt and road grime. Every time you clean your car, you should spend a little extra time making sure your windshield is as clean as possible. Don't forget to clean your windshield wipers, since they need to be in top condition when those sudden storms pop up.

  1. Mix 50 percent plain white vinegar and 50 percent water in a spray bottle. White vinegar is excellent at cutting through grease and dirt without leaving residue behind.

  2. Raise your windshield wipers away from the windshield. Inspect them carefully to make sure they are still in good working order.

  3. Spray the vinegar and water solution onto a clean rag and wipe down the windshield wipers. They get just as dirty as your windshield and cannot keep your windshield clear if they are caked with dirt and road grime.

  4. Spray the vinegar and water solution directly onto the exterior of your windshield.

  5. Wipe the windshield clean with clean rags or towels.

  6. For stubborn dirt or bugs, use a nylon scrub sponge along with the vinegar and water solution to clean them away.

  7. Use the same vinegar and water solution on the interior of your windshield and wipe it dry with clean towels.
