How To Make Bows For Gifts

Creativity brings new ideas. Making your own bows to use on gifts shows off you that trait. You can make small bows to use on wrapped presents or larger bows to use on gift baskets. Adding the personal touch to the gift is very thoughtful. You can make a perfectly matched bow to any wrapping paper with a few simple steps.

Supplies needed are scissors, ribbon, and a twist tie. Select the ribbon from one inch to three inches, depending on the bow size required.

  1. If you want to use two different color ribbons just fold the two ribbons together.

  2. Fold the ribbon over 10 to 12 times.

  3. After the last fold of the ribbon leave a seven inch tail and cut the ribbon.

  4. Fold and crease the ribbon in the center of the folds.

  5. Cut a one inch notch on each side of the ribbon.

  6. Unfold the ribbon in the crease and securely use the twist tie in the notches that you cut.

  7. Pull each fold out into a single loop.

  8. Arrange the loops creating the uniform design of the bow.

  9. Attach the bow to the present or gift basket.
