How to Apply for a Cadetship Preparation Course

A cadetship preparation course is a type of training program that helps students prepare to become cadets. The course may vary depending on the country, training institution and type of cadet the student plans to become. Students who complete these courses are more likely to become cadets.

  1. Contact a cadetship preparation course training center you are interested in attending to find out the prerequisites and any other requirements for acceptance. Many courses require that you have completed high school or have a GED and are a certain age. Others may be more lenient. Complete the required prerequisites, and request an application.

  2. Fill out the application. You will be asked for your name and contact information as well as your education and work history. Be sure to list any skills or training that might have helped you prepare to be a cadet or enter the program. Some preparation course programs may also ask you to write a letter explaining why you want to become a cadet and/or enter the training program.

  3. Turn in the application, and wait to be contacted for an interview. Some programs may schedule the interview on the spot. Attend the interview and answer all the questions truthfully and professionally. Be sure to be confident and dressed properly. You will be judged on the oral aspect of the interview, on how well you carry yourself and the attitude you portray.

  4. Wait to be contacted by the training course advisors. You may receive a letter or a phone call to notify you if you have been accepted into the program. Attend the program. How well you do in the training program could affect your chances of becoming a cadet.
