How to Become a Parking Attendant
Finding a parking attendant job is not always easy. A large metropolitan area is usually the best place to find work as a parking attendant. There are businesses that hire attendants in smaller areas, such as high-end local restaurants. Some hospitals also hire parking lot attendants to service patients.
- Update your resume before you search for work as a parking attendant. You will also need to make sure that your driver’s license is current. Read up on the basic duties of a parking attendant so you are prepared once you land a position.
- Decide how many hours you want to work. Many parking attendant positions are part time and some require you to work at night. If you are looking for a position as a second job you should make sure that it will not interfere with your current work schedule.
- Look in the "help wanted" section of a newspaper to find a parking attendant job. If you live near a large city, you can often find a listing for an attendant in the classified section of a local paper. Find out the pay rate and hours to see if you want to apply for the position.
- Go online to find parking attendant jobs. Find an employment website and use the search engine to pull up a list of job openings. Narrow the search by only looking for jobs in your area. Apply online if you find a parking attendant position, and follow up with the company if you do not receive a response.
- Call different companies in your area to find out if there are any openings for parking attendants. Some of the businesses to consider are restaurants, airports or casinos if there are any in your city. You can also call a hospital or other medical facilities to try and find work.
