How to Build Large RC Planes

When you are looking to build a big plane that is controlled using a remote control, you are going to have to follow different instructions than you would build a smaller model plane. The struts are will need to be able to hold up the extra weight applied to them.

1. Purchase all of the parts that you will need to construct the large remote controlled plane. Place all of the parts on a clear working space and separate them into different piles. Make sure that you put the parts of the plane somewhere where they will not become damaged. Make certain that the directions are out of the way and are somewhere where you can read them.


2. Follow the directions carefully. Do not do anything different from what they tell you to do. Follow all of the safety directions as stated; these are the most important part. To resin the struts, you are going to need to have a two-stage epoxy resin. Mix the chemicals that came in this to make certain that it will work properly. Let the epoxy resin air dry. Do not use heat to speed up the drying process, this will damage the plane.


3. After you have completed the outside covering of the plane, spread some of the resin on the seams. This will make your plane become waterproof. Do everything possible to make your plane waterproof. If anything gets inside your plane, you will not be able to fly it properly.


4. When you have completed the assembling process, put a small plastic bag over the top of the engine and tape it in place. Spray some weatherizer on the inside of the plane to make sure that the inside of the plane is waterproof. Spray some weatherizer on the outside of the plane as well. Make sure that when you use any type of spray like this, that you wear safety glasses to protect your eyes
