How to Build Main Wing RC Planes With Instructions

If you are a fun-loving person who loves to buy and fly a remote control (RC) plane, you can also build your own RC airplanes without spending much money. Building and flying your own remote control airplanes not only saves you money but also makes you understand the whole process of airplane assembling and engineering.

  1. Determine your Budget. You have to decide about your budget before shopping for equipment. Based on your budget, you can add or reduce many non-essential but fun parts of your airplane. On average, a remote control airplane costs $300 to $400.

  2. Read about Aerodynamics. Before you start building your airplane, learn about the basics of aerodynamics. This can help you a lot in understanding about airplane construction.

  3. Select the type of engine you want. There are a number of options available for remote control airplane engines. The most common type used is two-stroke engine, but some other options available are clean electric motors, silent motors and four-stroke engines.

  4. Assemble your plane wings. Buy or download a good instruction guide and follow step-by-step instructions to assemble different parts of your airplane, starting with the wings. You can place the wings at any of the two places, above or below the central body of the aircraft.

  5. Set an airfoil for your plane. The best place to put an airfoil is in front of a wing. Right placement of airfoil creates maximum lift and helps the plane make turns while flying.

  6. Assemble landing gear and wheels. Prepare your plane for landing by assembling landing gears. Test your wheels by running your plane on the ground.

  7. Attach your selected engine to your plane. You can test the engine's performance according to the instructions on the engine's manual.
