How to Build a Garden Gazebo
A gazebo is a garden structure that has eight sides and provides shade. It acts like a pavilion and can have plants around it, lights inside of it, paths going to and from it and thus serve multiple practical purposes.
- Find a good location for your garden gazebo. This should be somewhere that is practical yet offers a good view.
- Check into any code regulations or permits that you will need before you start your building.
- Decide upon what materials you want to use for building your garden gazebo. While traditional gazebos were built of wood, they can also be made out of wrought iron or vinyl. You can also paint, stain or treat the wood.
- Consider purchasing a kit to use in building your garden gazebo. These kits will usually take you at least two days to assemble and they will usually cost between roughly $3,000 and $40,000 depending upon the size and the materials that are used. It is also possible to spend even more money if you want to build something that is really elaborate.
- Consider your building skills and whether or not they are good enough for you to be able to design your own garden gazebo. There are free plans available online or you can purchase plans in order to build something that is more unique. While this is the most economical way in which to create your own gazebo, it is also the most labor intensive.
