How to Build a Gazebo
A gazebo adds extra appeal to your yard. Besides the appealing look of a gazebo, it can also act as a place to sit, relax and enjoy a view of a garden or area of water or just outdoors in general. Fortunately, these structures are not difficult to build when you purchase a kit, or if you have an already mapped out plan.
Supply List
- Gazebo kit
- Design (will come with kit)
- Tools
- Decide whether you want to build from a gazebo design, design your own (if you are familiar with structural design), or purchase a kit to assist you in the process. Keep in mind, opting for the kit is the easiest method to build a gazebo.
- Choose the location for your gazebo. A flat area away from other structures and power lines works best for your designated spot.
- Place an order online or in a store for the gazebo of your choosing. The kits come with nearly all of the resources you need to build the structure, besides the tools. You may choose to purchase a design or build from the drawing you made of the gazebo also. You will just need to purchase the materials you need. Buy any additional equipment or materials necessary to complete the project, based on the supply list provided with the kit.
- Clear the area where you plan to place your gazebo.
- Ask somebody to assist you with carrying the gazebo and helping you build it.
- Create the foundation of your gazebo first.
- Build the walls next. Usually, there is a post for each corner of the structure. You will build the roof last. Follow all of the instructions that came with your kit, to ensure your gazebo is safe for use and looks appealing your yard also.
