How to Build a Patio Table with a Fire Pit
A patio table with a fire pit will give your landscape a cozy, inviting look and is great for entertaining. When the weather starts to cool off you can enjoy making s'mores and toasting marshmallows outdoors with your family and friends.
- Purchase your lumber. Buy enough for the size of the patio table fire pit that you would like to build. The type of wood you get is up to you, but pressure-treated wood is great for withstanding water and insect damage.
- Build the surrounding for the fire pit with the lumber. Use rocks or stones to build the center basin that will hold the fire pit bowl. Position the rocks or stone in a pattern of your preference and then unite them with a mortar of cement. No adhesive is needed. Make sure to leave a large enough hole in the center of the stone for the fire pit bowl.
- Dry stack your stones. This is an alternative method for constructing your pit.
- Purchase a fire pit bowl. You can find these in a variety of sizes at your local home improvement store.
- Fill up the fire pit basin. Fill the fire pit basin with the proper amount of wood or sticks. Light a fire and let it consume all the wood or sticks. If you chose to dry stack your stones, then you need to check the stones to ensure that the fire pit bowl is firmly in place.
