How to Build an Archery Stand
To become a good archer you need practice. Building a homemade, lightweight wood archery stand will not only improve your skills but add convenience to your target acquisition positions. A lightweight stand makes it easy to move to various distances and positions for better target practice.
How to Build a Wooden Target Stand
1. Purchase the following supplies:
- 2 landscaping timbers, 8-feet long
- 1 plywood sheet
- 2"x2"x12' wood board
- Wood screws
- Sturdy wooden easel
1. Cut one timber in half (4-feet) and the remaining timber will be cut at a length of 3-feet.
2. Place each 4-foot piece of timber parallel to each other. Lay the 3-foot piece of timber across the two 4-foot pieces and use wood screws to secure it to the 4-foot timbers. Use wood screws on both sides to make it sturdy.
3. Cut the 2"x2"x12' board in 3-foot sections. Attach each section vertically to the crossbeams with wood screws.
4. Cut the plywood 3-feet by 3-feet. Attach the plywood to each 2" x 2" using wood screws.
5. Attach your paper target using pins to secure.
6. Place your target board on the easel, take aim and shoot!
