How to Buy Wholesale Jewelry
If you love wearing fashionable jewelry, but find that buying it can sometimes take a bite out of your budget, consider buying wholesale jewelry. When you buy wholesale jewelry, you are not necessarily getting jewelry that is of inferior quality, you are simply getting a substantial discount over retail prices.
Check the yellow pages. Under the heading "Jewelers" or "Wholesalers," look for ads pertaining to wholesale jewelers. The advertisements should note whether the wholesales allow the general public to buy wholesale jewelry, or if they only sell to retail businesses. If they do sell to the public, call the contact number to get further information.
Browse the online classifieds. Look for jewelry wholesalers on Internet classified ad sites. You might be required to purchase your jewelry in large quantities; however, some jewelry wholesalers will sell by the piece while still offering you the same price. Make sure that you understand the wholesaler's return policy, because sometimes they may stipulate that all sales are final. If that is the case, you will not be able to return your items either for cash or for a store credit.
Visit jewelry conventions and trade shows. Occasionally, jewelry conventions are held at convention centers or hotels. There you might find wholesale jewelry vendors who allow the public to buy wholesale jewelry. Although many conventions and trade shows are geared toward the business to business sales model, if you agree to purchase the jewelry in quantity, you might get wholesale or even below wholesale prices.
