How to Care for Hair Extensions
Taking proper care can help your hair extensions stay in longer and will also keep them looking their best. Hair extensions can be sewn or braided into your hair, or they can be clipped on. They can be made from either human hair or from synthetic hair.

- Brush your hair to remove tangles before washing. Use a soft bristle brush and begin at the bottom and work your way up toward the top.
- Using a good quality, mild shampoo and conditioner wash and condition your hair, rinsing with warm water. Human hair can be washed once or twice per week, while synthetic hair should not be washed more than once a week.
- Use a clean towel to wrap your hair and extensions, squeezing gently to remove water.
- It is best to avoid heat styling when you have synthetic extensions. You can style human hair as you normally would style your own hair.
- Tie hair up at night before sleeping to help avoid tangles.
