How to Clean Cloudy Glass Windows

Some people set aside an entire weekend and devote the time to cleaning their house from top to bottom. One of the most commonly overlooked things that should be cleaned is the windows. Some may prefer not to clean them because they think it would be too difficult, but it actually looks harder than it is.

How to Clean Cloudy Glass Windows

  1. Put some distilled water in a bucket and add enough dish washing detergent of your choice to make it sudsy.

  2. Add 3 tablespoons of ammonia for every gallon of water that is in the bucket.

  3. Take a clean, lint-free cloth and submerge it into the cleaning solution.

  4. Remove the cloth from the bucket and wring all the water out.

  5. Use the cloth and wash the windows to remove any hard water buildup, which may be the cause of the cloudiness.

  6. Use a squeegee, which is a rubber edged blade on a handle, to remove the water from the window.

  7. Use a clean, dry, lint-free cloth to remove any excess moisture from the window. Repeat steps 3 through 7 if the glass window still looks cloudy.
