How to Clean Mirror Sunglasses

Mirror Sunglasses

Mirrored sunglasses work great at keeping the sunlight out of your eyes. The downside to these types of sunglasses is that they can become smudged and dirty very easily. Care should be taken when cleaning them because the surface can become damaged.

Materials Needed

  • Tissue
  • Window cleaner
  1. Tear off several pieces of tissues. Fold them so they are easy to use to clean the glasses. Tissue is much better to use because it is soft and will not damage the lens. Wipe both lens on the sunglasses and make sure you wipe the front and back of the glasses. Make sure to use gentle pressure with circular motions to remove any dust, dirt and oil.
  2. Take the same pieces of tissue and lightly wet them with window cleaner. You want to avoid using too much cleaner because it can eat through the surface of the sunglasses. Wipe both lens and make sure you wipe the front and back of each lens.
  3. Tear off more tissues and spread them out with several layers. Put the sunglasses on the tissues. Tear off more tissue and use them to wipe the lens. Be careful and use light pressure. Make sure both lenses are cleaned on the front and back.

  4. Allow the sunglasses to dry for 15 minutes. Once the sunglasses are dry, inspect them for dirt. If they are still dirty, repeat the cleaning process until they are free of dirt, oil or grime.
