How to Clean Plastic Garden Tables

Plastic garden tables are an inexpensive way to add tables to your garden area. They are strong, last for a long time and are easy to care for. Regular cleaning is important to keep your tables from looking dirty and becoming stained. Fortunately, cleaning is an easy process.

What you will need to clean your plastic tables:

  • Spray cleaner, whichever one you prefer

  • Gloves to protect your hands from cleaning chemicals and from dirt

  • Scrub brush to scrub the textured parts of the table

  • Hose for rinsing your table

  • Bucket and sponge for wiping tables

  • Broom for sweeping dirt off table and table legs

  • Comet, optional if you have very dirty textured tables

Instructions:

  1. Use your broom to sweep away any leaves and loose debris on top of the table and around the table legs.

  2. Wet furniture with your hose. Be sure to get the underside and legs, as well as the table top.

  3. Spray tables liberally with your spray cleaner. If you have more than one table, spray one and move on to spray to the others. Once all tables are sprayed go back to the first one.

  4. Use the scrub brush to scrub any textured areas on the table.

  5. Wipe the entire table with a wet sponge, pay close attention to any areas that show dirt.

  6. Rinse your plastic table with clean water. Move on to the next table and so on, until all table are cleaned and rinsed.

  7. Look over the tables for any stubborn stains that have not come out. Spray more cleaner on those areas and use the scrub brush to scrub them until the stains are removed. Rinse with clean water again.

  8. Try a bleach and water solution, if your tables are white. Let the solution sit on the tables for a few minutes before scrubbing.

  9. Sprinkle comet on extremely dirty furniture instead of spray cleaner, if desired. Comet is abrasive and may work better on very dirty furniture or furniture that is highly textured. Be sure to rinse well a couple of times to get all residue off.
