How to Compare Different Lawn Services
There are many lawn service companies, and while you may think that they are all alike, that is simply not the case. There are differences in services provided and in how a lawn service company may operate. When interviewing these companies, there are some questions you can ask to help you compare and choose the one that is best for you.
- Ask what is included in the basic package. Usually fertilization is included. You may also want to ask about insect control. Get estimates in writing.
- Find out about add-on services that you can include and find out the prices. See about getting a print-out menu of services and prices. This will help you compare companies later to find the best price.
- See who provides products such as grass seed and fertilizer. If the company provides these products, ask which brands they use.
- If you do not want insecticides or weed killer used on your lawn, ask about skipping that service.
- Be sure you can change services if the need arises. You may want to add or take away a service down the line.
- If you are not satisfied, will the company try to correct the issues at no additional charge?
- Know who you are speaking to: is he a salesperson, or does he actually do the work? Who will be working on your lawn? Ask about their training and who will be supervising.
- Read the contracts to see if you can cancel service without a penalty if you are not happy.
- Does the company guarantee to be there on a certain day or time? You will want a company that is reliable.
- Once you have the answers to all of your above questions, sit down and look over all the information to help you choose the company that offers the services you need at the best price. Consider what you feel is a priority to your home.
