How to Choose a Roadside Service Membership Plan

How to Compare Roadside Service Memberships

As most car owners know, having a roadside service membership gives you some peace of mind when you are out on the road. However, choosing the right membership can be confusing. With so many options and features, it is a good idea to sit down and study which is the best fit for you.

  1. Acquire membership information on as many different roadside service memberships as you can. If possible, call to have information sent to your home. Having the information in front of you often makes it easier to make comparisons. It is possible to find this information online and compare that way as well.

  2. Determine which benefits are important to you. If you travel often, you may want a membership that includes maps and trip routing. On the other hand, if you mainly drive in town and rarely leave the area, that will not be as important.

  3. Think about mileage. While some memberships may offer five miles of towing, you can find other memberships that offer 25 or even 100 miles of towing, of course this will be at a greater cost. If you live in a rural area and drive long distances with few garages in the area, it will likely be worth the extra money to have the 100 miles of towing.

  4. Decide who you want to include in your membership. Memberships are available for single, couples and family plans. If you have children living at home under a certain age, you can add them on your membership. Often they must live in the same household and be between certain ages.

  5. Look over each plan after answering the above questions to find the plan that has the best options for you based on your needs.
