How to Create Social Services Websites

The world wide web has changed the way people do a lot of things. From shopping to banking, things have changed a lot during the Internet era. Creating a social services website will allow you to embrace this technology and provide people with much easier access to information and services.

Supplies needed:

  • Computer

  • Internet access

  • Web development software (optional)

  1. Decide on what you want to name your social services website. Choosing something that is closely related to the social services that you will be offering is a good idea. Use a computer to go online and check to see if the domain name is available. If the name is available, register the domain name. If the name is already taken, choose another one.

  2. Organize all the information that you want to put on your website. This information will include what services are being offered, who is offering these services and contact information.

  3. Decide if you want to build the website yourself or if you want to hire a professional web designer. If you decide to build the website yourself, then you will need to purchase web development software. Use the interface of this software to design your website. The software will allow you to insert images into your website. Proofread all the pages that you create. Make sure that the information is accurate. Be sure to input tags and keywords into your web pages so that traffic is drawn to your website. If you choose to hire a web designer, they will do all of this work for you. A web designer can cost anywhere from a few hundred dollars to over a thousand dollars.

  4. Promote your new website. You want people to be aware of your site and what it has to offer. You can use social media like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to help promote your website. Add new tags and keywords if the current ones are not generating enough hits.
