How to Create a House Cleaning Schedule
- Sit down and think about exactly what house cleaning tasks you want to be completed. Decide on what time during the day or night you want to complete them.
- Determine whether you clean on one particular day or over the course of a week.
- Make a list of the items that will need to be done such as making beds, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning the stove, washing dishes and taking out trash. Make sure you include as many items as you can think of at the time. If you think of something later you can always add it on.
- Write down whether each chore will be a daily or weekly chore. Next to each item on the list, write down how much time each chore takes. You can make the necessary adjustments when needed on the time. You can keep your schedule flexible and open to other activities during the week as well.
- Try to make your cleaning schedule as detailed as possible and type it up. There are many programs on computers that are great to use for scheduling chores. If you can do the typing yourself that is great because you can change things as you go along.
- Print out copies of your schedule. Print out enough copies so you can post them in each room. You can keep them hidden in your closet so they will not be too obvious to others.
