How to Create a Wireless Internet Connection

A wireless Internet connection provides convenient access to the Internet. If you are a person on the go, a wireless Internet connection will allow you to access the Internet away from home. A wireless Internet connection in your home allows people in every room to easily access the Internet.

  1. Make
sure that the device you are using is able to access wireless
connections. Some computers and devices are not able to connect with
wireless devices without the addition of a wireless adapter. A
wireless adapter can be plugged into a USB port. Your device will
now be able to access wireless signals. If you have a computer, use
an adapter with the USB port or with the PC card slot.

  2. Turn
on your computer, tablet or phone. Turn on the wireless features if
the features are not turned on already. On phones the features can
be located by clicking on “Settings” and then clicking on
“Wi-Fi” in the menu. On computers and most tablets you can find
the wireless setting through the menu or by looking for an icon on
your desktop. The icon will look like an antenna. Click on the icon
    to access your wireless features.

  3. Browse
for wireless connections. In some cases, numerous wireless
connections will be found. It helps to know the name of the wireless
internet connection that you are looking for. Most public wireless
internet connections will be properly named. Simply click on the
connection and you will be connected to the network. Connecting to
the network will allow you to connect to the Internet. If the
wireless Internet connection requires a password, ask the person who
is in charge of the network for the password.
