How to Customize Stock Cabinets
Stock cabinets are often those that are already in your home once you move in. Often times, these can be boring and not to your taste. Customizing stock cabinets to your liking doesn't have to be a hard task as long as you have an idea of what you would like to do.
- Glass Inserts: Glass inserts can be a nice touch to stock cabinets. If you have small children, adding these glass panels to lower cabinets where they will put their sticky hands or possibly break one of the panels is not an idea. If you would rather people not see your messy cupboards, glass paneling may not be the best option for you.
- Simple Extras: Adding doorknobs or handles to your stock cabinets can be just the thing that your cabinets need to create a new look. There are a large variety of handles and knobs that you can find at most all hardware stores. If you don't find ones that you are in love with, you can also have some custom made as well.
- Copper Plating: Adding copper plating to the door fronts of your stock cabinets can definitely create a new look that most nobody will have. Most hardware stores carry kits with pre-engraved panels and the glue that you would need to attach them all ready to go.
- Staining and Painting: If you like the overall design of the cabinets that you have in your home but you don't like the color of them, staining or painting them is a simple solution to help you feel better about your stock cabinets. Most of the time, you can stain your cabinets for less than $100.
