Supplies

- Safety goggles
- Radial arm saw
- Nigglers
- Wear leather gloves and safety goggles when you cut aluminum siding. Make sure you cut across the contours of the siding using a radial arm saw that is fitted with a panel blade. Work slow as you cut the siding.
- Start cutting at the width of the siding. Use a niggler, which will help you cut the siding in a straight line. A niggler is made from two smaller blades, which vibrate up and down at a high speed. If you need to cut through contours of the siding, you should use a power saw instead of a niggler.
- Use green and red tin snips as you cut the siding. You can alternate between the red and green handled snips to increase the pace. Use the red handled tin snip when you cut with your right hand. Use the green handled tin snips when cutting with your left hand. Do not use the power saw for trimming, as the tin snip will work better for this. Ensure that you cut the aluminum siding in a horizontal direction from the top.
- Make sure you use the right measurements before you start cutting the siding. Be very careful when you start cutting it, as it can be very dangerous. Never take off the goggles or gloves until you are finished cutting.
