Typography is important; this defines the name of the company. The actual shape and colors of the logo denote specific emotions and qualities of the company. It is important to learn how to create an effective logo to ensure the product is noticed and remembered.
- Consider the typography. The typography is extremely important in your client's image or brand management. This area is so critical that volumes and courses are taught on the subject. One excellent example of the typography is the Coke-a Cola logo. Here the script hand designed to convey an easy languishing drink for warm summer days.
- Determine the style of type font best suited to the client's brand, either a Times Roman type style for the lawyer or banker will emit professionalism. However, a script is always great for a product like Coke or another beverage. Try several variations of your type styles with the logo design to see what brand intensifying and completes a certain look or statement.
- Define the actual shape of your logo; a circle, square, ellipse or shield, affects the logo statement. For example, the shield dates back to the heraldry of the medieval ages when a knight wore the shield of a specific country or area. This early brand management has developed to a sophisticated mechanism today for recognizing a brand or product. While designing the shape of the logo, consider the use of a clothing logo or a business like law firm. Depending on the area of the brands' shelf the logo will enhance or detract with certain shapes. Analyze other logos in your client’s area to sense what is appropriate.
- Coordinate your major design decisions into a completed logo design; include your typography of the brand name, the logo type and any illustrations contained in or around the logo. Your client will request two or three variations of the logo. This can be accomplished easily when using adobe Photoshop or illustrator. If you also design a letterhead with the logo, be certain to include the design with the logo for samples.
