How to Display Kitchen Accessories
Kitchen accessories are useful when working in the kitchen, but they can also double as attractive decorations and displays. For these displays, use objects that are eye-catching. There are many ways to display kitchen accessories, creating a cozy and inviting look for your kitchen.
- Install shelves around the kitchen. Place similar items on the shelves. For example, display several baking items in one group. Choose things that are used together when cooking, like bowls and sifters.
- Put grocery items, such as flour and spaghetti, in decorative canisters or cookies jars. For a cleaner, more modern look, use glass or stainless steel canisters.
- Install a hanging pot rack in the middle of the kitchen. These racks, usually made of stainless steel, are large and contain many hooks to hang pots, mixing spoons and other accessories. This can become the focal point of the kitchen. Hang strings of food items, such as chili peppers or garlic, among the pots.
- Use corner shelves to make use of the empty corners in your kitchen. Use the shelves to store and display stacks of plates or containers of utensils. Corner shelves can also be used as a small pantry. Place attractive containers and boxes on the shelves.
- Hang plate racks on the walls to display fancy or decorative plates. Standing plate racks can also be lined up along the top of cabinets. Plates look best if multiple ones are grouped with similar colors or themes.
- Install hooks along the backsplash and use to hang utensils and cooking spoons. You can also purchase magnetic strips that can be screwed onto the wall. The magnetic strips will hold knives and tableware that do not have holes for hooks.
- Update cabinets by installing glass doors. Glass cabinets will put kitchen accessories on display without taking any out.
- Hang spice racks to display colorful bottles of spices. The spices can be kept in the original packaging. You can also pour the spices into clear glass bottles and display them on racks. This will give your kitchen a country feel by showing off the earthly tones.
- Display cookbooks in empty counter corners. Prop the books on a book holder or plate rack. This is attractive and functional. The display will prop the books open for easy use during cooking.
