- Stack some of your books in a unique and creative way to make visual effects and lines for your bookcase. Don't line your books up in the normal way; have some lying down while others standing up. Put some books near other items in your bookcase to mix it up with medals, artwork, trinkets, and trophies.
- Mixed items together of different heights. To avoid symmetry put some small items with big items, and low and high height items together. Organize items so that they draw attention and make the eye pop. Mix match things that would not normally go together, and use depth in your display. One way to utilize this is use some taller object in the back of the bookshelf, and the use shorter objects progressively as you make your way to the front.
