How to Distribute Wedding Favors

You have worked so hard at planning all of the little details of your wedding day. You have chosen the perfect favor to complement your theme and to give guests a little memory from the day to take home with them. What is the best way to distribute wedding favors to ensure that everyone gets one and that they don't get left behind?

  1. The easiest way to make sure that all of your guests receive their favor is to place one at everyone's seat. It can be made a part of the place setting so that no one will miss it as they sit down. The only risk with this option is that often favors get left behind as guests mingle and enjoy the wedding festivities.

  2. As guests come in to the reception, have favors out with place cards so they can be picked up as people are finding their seats. Favors can even be incorporated into their seating assignments. For example, small picture frames that list the name and table number can also double as a favor that they can take home with them later.

  3. As guests leave, favors can also be set out on a table near the door to take as they leave. Post a note on the table thanking guests for attending and asking them to please take one. This reduces the risk that the favors will be left behind. This is the best option if you are not planning on having a seated dinner reception.
