How to Finance a Rim and Tire Package

Adding a tire and rim package to your vehicle is a great way to customize its appearance to your liking. These types of packages range in style, size and price. Depending on your credit history and financial ability, you may be able to finance a tire and rim package, if you cannot afford to pay for the entire package upfront.

  1. Gather your current bills and other expenditures that have an impact on your budget. This can include the grocery bill, utilities and your rent or mortgage payment. By organizing all of these items, you are determining what you will be able to spend each month, before you begin to look for the right tire and rim package for you. If you spend more money than you make each month, financing is not a good option to consider.

  2. Research and compile a list of retailers that sell tire and rim packages and check with representatives to determine if they offer financing options. Not all retailers offer you the option to finance, no matter how high the cost is.

  3. Apply for financing at the store. You will need to provide them with your social security number, financial information and identification. If this is a retailer that bases financing on your credit, you want to make sure your credit is acceptable, before applying. There are retailers that offer you financing options, even if you have poor credit.

  4. Review the loan contract and agreement before signing and make sure that you understand the repayment terms and any consequences and fees that will result from delinquent payments or nonpayment.
