How to Find Discontinued Vinyl Flooring Tiles
Vinyl floor tiles can be discontinued by the manufacturer for a variety of reasons. If it is not a popular tile choice, you may be in luck if you are looking for additional tiles. Popular discontinued vinyl floor tiling can be difficult to find in the quantities you may require.
Things You'll Need:
- The pattern name and manufacturer of the vinyl floor tile
- Phonebook
- Contact the manufacturer of the discontinued floor tiles. If the pattern is only recently discontinued, the manufacturer may be able to tell you which retailers still have that tile in stock. If the file has been discontinued for some time, the manufacturer may still have some in storage that they may sell you for a discounted price.
- Contact local home improvement supply stores. These larger stores may still have tile in stock.
- Locate stores in your area that specialize in vinyl flooring. These types of stores sometimes receive advance notice that a particular pattern is about to be discontinued and may stock up on the tiles.
- Contact surplus stores such as Habitat for Humanity's ReStore that sell home improvement supplies at a discounted price. These types of stores typically receive donations from construction companies and home builders. The managers there may also have a contact who could give you a heads-up on where else to search for your particular tile pattern.
- Search online through websites such as eBay and Craigslist. Sometimes people have excess tile from their own home improvement projects and are interested in selling the extra tiles to others.
