How to Find Emergency Water Heater Repair

Finding someone to repair appliances can be a difficult and exhausting job but it is even worse when it is an emergency.  Water heaters are a necessity to our lives these days.  They need to function properly or people can be greatly unconvinced in their daily lives.  Finding a company to repair the water heater is not always an easy task.

  • Decide if you do have an emergency.  Having a serviceman come to your home during the weekend or late into the night can be very costly.  If you can wait until normal working hours to have the repair done, the price will improve greatly.

  • Prepare yourself for the call to the technician.  If you know the make and model of your heater and any noises or other odd things about your water heater, you may get help more quickly.  Neither you or the customer service representative will be as likely to be put on hold if you have all information ready.

  • Check the phone book and Internet for companies in your area.  MerchantCircle offers lists of local companies along with customer reviews and coupons.

  • Request a quote for labor and parts before the serviceman comes to your home.  Because you are requesting emergency service the prices between companies can be dramatically different.  Get your quotes and compare.

  • Call an appliance store and see if they have a technician that can help you.  Sometimes these servicemen can be cheaper than other companies.

  • Seek the troubleshooting department of your water heater manufacturer.  A technician maybe able to walk you through some steps to fix the problem when there is an emergency.
