How to Find Free Horse Stuff
Horses require a lot of attention and care, and supplies can add up. The owner must pay for medical expenses along with food, shelter and miscellaneous equipment. It's important to find ways to locate free items in order to save money.
- Check with friends and family members. They may have old supplies that they no longer need. Don't take something that is in poor condition just because it's free; look for items that won't harm the horse or make it uncomfortable.
- Cut out coupons from the local paper. Pet stores occasionally offer free items after a certain amount of products have been purchased. Call the store if you aren’t sure about something and need more information.
- Enter contests. The odds of winning are higher when more are entered. Fill out an entry form online or in person. Make sure to include personal information such as a name and address. You may have to pay a fee in order to enter some contests.
- Attend horse events. Booths at an event may offer free samples of the products that are being sold. Ask people questions that you have before leaving the event. Leave information with them if they don't have enough time to talk to you.
- Go online. Websites may offer items such as food samples, screensavers or care advice. Use caution when visiting a website that is not updated regularly. Their information may be outdated and therefore harmful. Contact the webmaster if you're concerned.
