How to Find Jobs from the Internet

Using the Internet is a great tool to help you find a job. Where before you could only visit a few potential employers each day, now you can send out dozens of applications or resumes in just a matter of minutes.

  • Submit applications online by using the Internet. You will find that many employers no longer take paper applications, instead pointing you to their corporate website. There you can apply for a position without having to physically visit the store or business.  You can also use one corporate website to apply at all nearby locations. For instance, you can place one application on the Target corporate website and have it sent to all stores within a certain radius of your home.

  • Search for a job using a jobs website such as Monster or The Ladders. These types of sites help business professionals find the types of jobs that they need. You can put up your resume online and look for jobs in your area. Businesses look through the resumes that are placed on the site and call potential candidates for interviews.

  • Look for more temporary work by searching the online classifieds. The local newspaper in your area will have a help wanted section that is available to read online. You can also find work by searching sites like Craigslist. Be sure that you properly vet these types of jobs; sometimes scams are posted on classified sites and cleverly look like job opportunities.
