How to Find Skate Parks In Your Area

A skate park can provide a fun safe place for children and skate enthusiasts to hang out and hone their skating abilities. Just because you have never seen a skate park in your area does not mean there isn't one nearby. With a little searching you will soon be on your way to hours of skating.

• Check the Internet. Many skate parks have an online website that will let you know their hours, entrance fee and location. Searching the Internet may allow you to find skate parks you did not even know were nearby.

• Ask your friends. If you have friends who are also interested in skating, ask them where they go to practice. Although they may not know of a skate park in your area, they may know of one nearby.

• Search local parks. Many skate parks are now being built near or in already existing parks. Go to parks in your area to see if they have built a skate park.

• Download an app. There are several smartphone apps that let you locate skate parks in your area. Find an app that works for you and let it search for the closest skate park to you.

• Keep your eyes open when going on road trips. Sometimes the best way to find a skate park is to just drive by it. You'll see concrete obstacles rising from behind a fence and you'll know that on the other side of the fence is a skate park.

• Check if there is another area where skating is allowed. Some areas may not have a skate park but may have an area where they allow skating. Ask around to locate a skate area near you.
