How to Find Transportation Services
Whether you plan to travel via taxi, train or bus, transportation services are available in every major city across the United States. If you have just moved to a city, or are visiting a place for the first time, finding a transportation service may be a bit difficult. Although this is the case, there are several ways to go about finding transportation services.
- Consult with professionals. Speak to a travel agent, if you are a tourist. If you have flown into town, the airport generally has several ways for you to get to your destination. Travel agents or other agents at tourist information kiosks can provide you with all the help needed. If you have traveled to a new city for a job, check with a colleague on tips for traveling on public transportation, to determine which is the best way.
- Navigate to the official website of the city you are in or are traveling to. The public transportation options are often listed on these websites with detailed directions on how to get to the facilities.
- Search online for a free mapping service, such as Google Maps or MapQuest. These types of sites provide you with the option of entering the destination address and finding local facilities around that area. Enter the address in the appropriate box and select the type of transportation service you are searching for. The results will show the nearest locations to the address you entered.
- Get in contact with the local authority for public transit. These are the organizations that administer the city’s transportation services. Their websites sometimes offer a trip planner that provides you with location and schedule information on all of the available transportation services.
