How to Find an Equestrian Center

Finding the right equestrian center can make a big difference in the quality of the riding lessons. It is important to first determine the type of riding lessons to take at the center. Visiting multiple centers is the best way to decide which one offers the most value for the price.

  • Decide what type of riding lessons you want to take at an equestrian center. Determine how much you can afford to pay for the lessons. Ask a friend who rides horses for an equestrian center to contact. Find out how much your friend pays for riding lessons. Ask if you should request a certain instructor at the center before you make the call.

  • Check the Yellow Pages to find an equestrian center in your area. Contact the center to find out when you can stop by so you can talk with the manager. Make sure that the equestrian center offers the type of riding lessons you want to take. Find out the location of the center if it is on the outskirts of your area.

  • Go online to try and find an equestrian center. Use a search engine to find centers that are within driving distance. Go to a center’s website and read up on the instructors and the type of riding lessons that are available to take.

  • Contact a local stable manager to get a recommendation on an equestrian center. Ask the manager how long the center has been in business. Find out the location of the equestrian center and set up a time to speak with the manager or an instructor.

  • Decide which equestrian center to use for the riding lessons. Set up a regular time for the lessons. Find out what type of clothing you should wear when you ride. Ask the manager if there is a fee for canceling the lessons if you decide not to continue with the program.
