How to Name Your Equestrian Center

If you are opening a new equestrian center, it is important that you spend some time carefully considering possible names. Naming the center might seem like an insignificant detail in comparison to all of the hard work that you completed, but it is important. The name of your equestrian center will give a lasting first impression, so choose carefully.

  • Consider family names. You can pay homage to your family and their history of caring for horses by naming your center after a family name. This can be as simple as using your own last name, or choosing a name that has a lot of meaning to your family, such as your grandfather's first name, or a special family nickname. Customers may not understand the meaning behind a name such as this, but it will be significant to your family.

  • Consider your area. If you have any prominent local landmarks or places of historical significance, you might consider tying them into your center's name. If you live in the desert, a name such as Red Rock Stables, for example, can be a good fit.

  • Draw inspiration from local fauna. Are there certain plants, flowers or trees that are native to your area? Are you in the middle of a large grassy plain? If so, you might consider a name such as Rolling Hills Ranch. If your area is known for tall pine trees, use that as inspiration for the equestrian center's name. A name such as Tall Pine Equestrian Center, or Tall Oaks Ranch might be a great fit.

  • Determine how you want to label your center. Once you have come up with the descriptive part of your center's name, you will need to determine what ending you want to use. Since you are naming an equestrian center, you can use stable, ranch, farms, yard, meadow, center or even equestrian center, just to name a few. Play around with a few combinations to see what name sounds best.
