How to Fix Hair Color Disasters
Some people color their hair on a regular basis as a way of changing their looks. Changing the color of your hair is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to alter your appearance. Although many people go to a beauty salon to have the procedure done, some people do the process themselves, which sometimes ends in disaster.
- Use a deep conditioning treatment on your hair prior to applying any type of color. The treatment also should be applied to the hair after it is colored. This is done to avoid discoloration and any fading that may occur.
- Use a strong detergent-based shampoo to remove any excess color in your hair. Apply the shampoo and let it set on your hair for a few minutes and then rinse your hair thoroughly.
- Apply a color toner to your hair if you are trying to correct a mild case of blonde brassiness. Consider adding some highlights to your hair to minimize damage.
- Trim off as much of the color damaged hair as possible. If you have ever considered wearing a short hairstyle it would be the perfect time to do so.
- Repair hair that is over highlighted by reversing the process. This can be done by applying some low lights. This also minimizes the damage to your hair.
