How to Fold Laundry
Folding laundry is not a task that many people enjoy doing, but it is something that needs to be done if you don't want your clean clothes to sit in a basket and become wrinkled. Everyone should take the time to learn how to properly fold clothes.
- Pants: Hold the pants up vertically by the waist and use one of your hands to grab the front of the pants near the zipper and hold it together. Lay the pants flat with the legs of the pants together. The front pockets should be on the outside. Fold the legs of the pants and take them up to the front pocket.
- Short sleeve shirt: Fold the shirt in half vertically and flatten out with your hand. The arms of the shirt should be together. Fold the arms onto the shirt. Fold the shirt in half horizontally.
- Underwear: Hold the underwear by the waistband and fold them in half vertically, and then fold again horizontally.
- Socks: Lay the pair of sock flat on the folding table with one on the top of the other. Hold the toe end of the socks in your hand and roll them up together. Stop rolling when you have rolled a little more than half of the socks. Open one of the socks at the top and fold it down over the part you have just rolled.
- Bath towels: Lay the towel out flat and fold it vertically, and then fold it horizontally. If it is a large towel it should be folded horizontally again for easy storage.
