How to Fold a Men's Jacket Kerchief

A jacket kerchief is a nice way to give your suit a polished look. Although this is not an essential feature to men's jackets, it is a popular way to show personality through dress clothes. There are a few ways to fold a jacket kerchief, each one giving a whole new look.

Items Needed:

  • Kerchief

  • Starch

  • Iron

The Square Kerchief

  1. Choose your favorite color kerchief to use that matches your jacket or tie.

  2. Lay it down on a flat surface, certain that the kerchief is not folded at all.

  3. Fold it in half by bringing the left side over to touch the ride side.

  4. Take starch and spray it onto the fold that you just created and place an iron to it.

  5. Fold up the bottom of the kerchief around two or so inches, and then starch and iron it again.

  6. Place your kerchief into the jacket pocket with the top inch visibly poking out.

The Pointed Kerchief

  1. Fold it in half the same way you did for the square fold. Starch and then iron to form a strong crease.

  2. Fold it in half a second time to bring the top and bottom together, instead of the sides. Again, starch and iron.

  3. Move your kerchief so that you are looking at a perfect square.

  4. Fold in the top corners so that they touch in the middle of the kerchief, creating a point.

  5. Fold up the bottom corners so that they also meet in the middle.

  6. Starch, iron and place it in your jacket pocket with the point facing up.
