How to Frame Art Prints
If you are looking for an inexpensive way to decorate a room you should highly consider framing your own art prints. It is not only a way for you to create exactly what you want without having to pay a lot of money for it, but it is also something that you can easily do.
How to Frame Art Prints
- Use a ruler to take the measurements of the art print you want to frame.
- Choose the frame you will be using for the project. It should be something that will coordinate with the print. If you want the frame to stand out choose one that is at least 2 or 3 inches thick.
- Choose the color and size of the matting you are going to use. The mat can enhance the look of your print. Pick out one that will not clash with the colors in your print. If it is a large print you should use a mat that is no larger than 2-inches in width. A small print should be displayed in a large frame and a large mat should be used.
- Use a mat cutter to cut out the middle of the mat to fit the size of the print. You can also use a razor blade if you do not have a mat cutter.
- Place the print up against the mat to make sure it is straight.
- Place some acid-free tape on the back of the print to keep it in place against the mat.
- Turn the frame over and place the glass in the frame followed by the print and mat.
- Place a piece of cardboard on top of the mat.
- Use staples to hold the cardboard in place.
- Attach the hanging hardware on the back of the picture and it is ready to hang.
