How to Get Old School Photographs
Old school photographs are a lot of fun to look through. They often bring back memories of loved ones and happy celebrations. Tracking down these old photos can sometimes be tricky, but there are ways to make the process a bit smoother.
- Look through files, drawers, photo albums, cupboards and boxes. Old photos are likely stashed away somewhere. Photographs are easy to misplace since they are so small and thin.
- Search folders on your computer, especially if you’ve owned the device for a while.
- Ask your parents. Look through photo albums and stacks of loose photos at their home. Ask other loved ones to help in the search.
- Develop any old rolls of film found in drawers at your home or your parents'. The missing photos may have never been developed.
- Ask your friends and even more family members if they have any old photos. Identify the people who are avid photographers and start with them. People who are extremely organized are likely to know if they have the photos or not right away.
- Check with your school, camp, community center or wherever the photos were taken to see if they have copies. They may keep an archive of old photographs.
- Search social networking sites, such as Facebook. Many people enjoy posting older photographs of themselves. You may find yourself in some of these shots.
- If all else fails, recreate the photographs. Hit thrift stores to pick up vintage clothes and props. Get the old group together for a fun photo shoot.
