How to Get Perfume Stains Out of Clothes

Perfume stains can come by surprise usually after a day or not on the go. How many times have you spritzed on a mist of something while simultaneously grabbing car keys, your purse, or etc.? While a perfume stain may be annoying, there are a few solutions that may aid in your dilemma.

Cold Water

If the stain is fresh, simply sponge the stain with cold water. Next, immerse the stained clothing in water and wash with detergent. Once the stain is noticeably removed, allow the fabric to air dry.

Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide is effective on white clothing. Make a solution with equal parts of water and hydrogen peroxide, and then treat using a sponge.

Stain Remover Solution

If the stain is has settled, soak in stain remover and warm water. After the clothing has soaked, wash in detergent as usual. Allow the fabric to air dry.

Stain Cleaning Solution

A stain cleaning solution can be made using ingredients you have right at home. Mix 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and 1 tablespoon of dish detergent in approximately 1 quart of water. Soak the clothing in the solution then wash in detergent as usual.

Tip:

A key to remember is the earlier you catch the stain, the better off you will be. Naturally older stains are harder to treat. These may require more careful attention and care. Clothing made of delicate fabrics may require dry cleaning. Go ahead and treat the stain prior to taking it to the dry cleaners, as it might save you on the bill.
