How to Get Set in Stains Out of White Scrubs

Medical professionals often wear white scrubs. In their profession, the scrubs can easily obtain stains. The workers cannot always get the stains out as soon as possible so the stain sets into the fabric. The stains can be removed when they finally get the chance and even they are set into the fabric.

Materials Needed

  • Liquid detergent

  • Bowl

  • Cloth

  • Hot and cold water

  • Large Bucket

  • Chlorine bleach

  • Stain remover

  • Hanger

  • Washing machine

  1. Place the scrubs on a flat surface. Inspect the scrubs and locate all of the stains. Pour 1 tablespoon of liquid detergent into a bowl. Dip a corner of a cloth into the detergent. Rub the stain with the cloth and detergent. Work the detergent into the stain and allow it to sit for 10 minutes.

  2. Add 1-gallon hot water to a large bucket. Make sure the bucket is large enough to hold the scrubs. Measure ½ chlorine bleach and add it to the bucket of water.

  3. Put the scrubs into the bucket of hot water and bleach. Allow the scrubs to soak in the solution for 35 minutes.

  4. Turn on the cold water in the sink. Remove the scrubs from the bucket and place them under the cold water. Rinse the scrubs well to remove all of the bleach solution.

  5. Wing the water from the scrubs. Inspect the scrubs for any stains. Hang the scrubs on a hanger and allow them to air dry. Proceed to the next step if stains remain.

  6. Apply stain remover to the spots and allow the remover to work on the stain for 10 minutes. Turn on the washer and add liquid detergent to it. Wash the scrubs. Remove the scrubs and put them on a hanger to air dry.
