How to Get Sponsorship to Pay for Basketball Uniforms
When you have a school basketball team or you are in another type of league, paying for your equipment and uniforms may be difficult. Many times businesses will sponsor your team and provide you with the money you need to purchase the uniforms. They do this as a means of advertising.
- Go to your neighborhood businesses and ask them if they would be interested in sponsoring your basketball team. Make sure you talk to someone in the business that is allowed to make these types of decisions.
- Let them know the benefits they will be reviving in return for their sponsorship. When a team has a business sponsor, both the business and the team can benefit. The team benefits by getting their new uniforms and equipment, and the business benefits because they are able to not only advertise their service or product through the use of the sponsorship, but they are able to show potential customers that they are caring. This will help persuade customers to visit their business.
- Talk to businesses of where you know the owner or someone in the business personally. If they know you and know how much you want the uniforms, they may be more inclined to sponsor your team and get you new uniforms.
- Try to get sponsorship for your basketball uniforms from more then one business. Sometimes businesses will be happy to give a portion of the money you need in order to get your uniforms and allow them to advertise, but if this is the case you may need to get more sponsors.
- Make sure the businesses that have sponsored you know how appreciative you are. This may make them want to be more involved with the program, and may even convince them to sponsor your team in the future.
