How to Hang Wire Shelving in a Garage
Adding wire shelves to your garage is great way to keep it organized and clean. Wire shelves are inexpensive and easy to install. They can be purchased from most department store or improvement stores. You may want to purchase wire shelves and are heavy duty if you intend to keep them in your garage.
- Decide where on the walls you want to hang the shelves. Place the mounting brackets up to the wall and use the level to make sure they are straight.
- Use a pencil to make a mark above the mounting brackets, to mark the spot where you want to hang them. You can also make small dot inside the boltholes of the mounting brackets. This will tell you where to place the screws and help you line the shelves back up to the desired location.
- Hold the mounting brackets in place and use a drill or screw driver to put the screw in place and secure the mounting brackets to the wall. Use the level to make sure they are straight before drilling the screws in place.
- Slide the mounting clips onto the mounting brackets. The clips will hold the back of the shelves onto the brackets and prevent them from slipping forward of falling.
- Place the shelves onto the mounting brackets. If the shelves are designed to be attached to the brackets, use screws and a drill to install the shelves. Otherwise, clip the back of the wire shelves onto the brackets and allow them to rest on the mounting brackets.
