How to Heat a Bathroom Floor
There is nothing more aggravating than waking up in the morning, and walking onto a cold bathroom floor. Luckily, there are a few ways to keep the bathroom floor warm. That means toss out those slippers since they will no longer be needed to keep your feet warm.
Please know that some of the suggestions below can be quite costly, but worth the investment if you are interested in heating your floor.
1: Purchase a small space heater.
Pros:
Space heaters are a convenient size to place in the corner of a bathroom, and can be set on the lowest heating, which will help warm the floor throughout the night. Be sure to set the heater in a location that wont cause anyone to trip and fall.
These type of heaters do not take up a lot of space.
Cons:
- May cost a few extra dollars on the electric bill.
2. Either the homeowner or a professional can opt to have a hydronic system installed into the flooring. This is also known as radiant floor heating and has been used for many years.
Pros:
Will make the bathroom floor nice and toasty throughout the day.
Works great during the winter season
Cons:
Requires a lot of complicated installation procedures, which consists of special tubing and boilers and/or heating tools.
Costly products required.
3. Many people like having carpet on the bathroom floor so that they won't have to worry about cold floors. The carpet can be installed by the owner or a professional.
Pros:
Protects the flooring underneath.
Not as cold as tile flooring.
Cons:
May be hard to clean
Can be unsanitary due to mildew, mold, and/or urine stains.
