Purchase a home highlighting kit and read the instructions carefully before proceeding.
Put on an old shirt with long sleeves and pin a towel around your neck to protect your skin. Remember to wear gloves at all times during the process.
With the gloves on, mix the highlighting ingredients according to the instructions. Be sure to mix thoroughly before using.
Part your hair the way you normally wear it to determine where you want the highlights.
Use the brush included with kit to apply the mixture starting with the hair around the face.
Continue to apply the mixture to the remainder of your hair. Make sure the hair is sufficiently coated.
Refer to the directions to see how long to let the mixture remain on your hair.
Rinse the mixture from your hair.
Wash and condition using products for color-treated hair.
